Undercover Parking Competition July Winner
Veronika Lundin was the lucky winner in the Undercover Parking Competition for the July month. She is has won the second to last bay as well as a Midlands Carwash voucher and free parking access card.

Sifiso Ndlapo was recently at Liberty Midlands mall for a signing Session just before the 2010 BMX World Championships. Fans got signed autographs from the BMX rider.

Disabled facilities available at Liberty Midlands Mall
The mall offers wheelchairs on enquiry at the Customer Care Counter to ensure a comfortable and pleasurable shopping experience. There are also disabled parking bays that are located near all main entrances to ensure easy and convenient access into the mall. Temporary disabled disks for display in the window of a vehicle are available to the public for unexpected visits to the mall with a disabled person, and are available at the Customer Care Counter.
Disabled Ablution Facilities are located in close proximity to the general public toilets along the passageway adjacent to the Customer Care Counter next to Panarotti’s, as well as in the passageways next to Ghela Outfitters, Elna and Shadows.
Ramps leading from the parking areas into the three entrances allow easy and direct access onto the paving and into the Mall. The undercover parking area also has two lifts to ensure disabled shoppers have access into the mall.
Disobedience or misuse of the paraplegic parking bays will result in the clamping of the wheels of the offenders' cars by Mall security, and an immediate fine of R500 for the removal thereof.
How to apply for a Disabled Parking Disc
The Association for the Physically Challenged undertakes to issue Special Parking Discs on behalf of the Traffic Department. According to the department in terms of Sec.58 (1), no unauthorized motorists should be utilizing disabled parking bays. Unauthorized motorists who do not comply will be persecuted by the Traffic and Security Business Unit.
To obtain a disc, there is an application form which can be obtained from the Association for the Physically Challenged. There is also a Government Gazetted Medical Certificate that needs to be completed by a medical practitioner to ensure that the applicant has substantial difficulty in walking. The cost of the disc id R35 per year and is renewable annually. All discs need to be displayed on the left hand side of windscreen of the vehicle.

Donate a Brick Campaign
Liberty Midlands Mall in association with Reach Out, our charity of the year, have joined hands to build a Community Facility Centre for the people of rural France. France is a settlement on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg with many child-headed households and young teenage mothers. There are also many HIV/AIDS victims and orphans, as well as elderly folk within the community that need help.
So what is this "Donate a Brick Campaign" about?
Well you can donate money towards purchasing building materials, such as bricks, to help build the Community Facility Centre.
How do i "Donate a Brick"?
Any amount from R20-00 onwards can be donated at our Customer Care desk from 12 August 2008. Upon donation you will receive a “Donate a Brick” donation form to fill in and enter into the “Reach Out House” positioned next to the Customer Care desk. This campaign is to run until the end of December and all the funds raised will go into a separate bank account that will be used to buy physical building material to build the Community Facility Centre as well as to the sustainability of the project in years to come.
